After School ClassesEnrich your Hillview learning experience with PTO sponsored afterschool programs.
Chinese Hwa Shin Chinese school, a non-profit Chinese school, founded in Palo Alto in 1995, provides Chinese programs in schools in Peninsula, includes Encinal and Laurel, as well as Oak Knoll starting September. Students learn to speak Mandarin, read and write simple Chinese characters, Hanyu Pinyin (Chinese phonetic system) thru games and activities. After-school classes at Hillview campus meet on Mondays 3:20-5:20pm from Sept. 17 to Jan 28. For details and to sign up please click "enrollment form". Make payment by check in order of Hillview PTO $825 for the whole year. Significantly improve your vocabulary as well as your English writing and speaking skills with just a year of Latin. Students who complete two years of after-school Latin at Hillview may be able to place into Latin II at MA. Both classes meets two days per week for one year.
Writing Workouts feature short, in-class exercises designed to complement Hillview’s curriculum. Seminars will be highly interactive and fun. Students will participate and practice the common criteria needed to write well in any genre: Voice, Audience, Logic and Editing (VALE).
